What’s New at SCW Foundation: Helping Hands, Find Your Ride & January Events

Don’t miss the Annual Sun City West Pickleball Ball Drop — a sky-high community fundraiser benefiting seven local charities, including Sun City West Foundation and Helping Hands. Every numbered pickleball represents a ticket holder with a chance to win prizes — and every ticket helps support neighbors right here in Sun City West.

• When: Friday, March 6, 2026 • 9:30–10:30 AM (Drop at 10:30 AM sharp)
• Where: Palm Ridge Pickleball Center • 13800 W Deer Valley Dr, Sun City West
• Tickets: $10 each or 3 for $25 • No limit
• Choose your charity: Please consider selecting Sun City West Foundation at checkout to directly support our mission.
• Note: Winners do not need to be present to claim prizes.

Online tickets are purchased through Zeffy so the event can receive 100% of your gift. (Zeffy shows an optional tip line at checkout — you can set it to any amount, or $0.)

Whether you’re hosting family for the season or recovering from a procedure, Helping Hands offers over 4,000 pieces of equipment available for no charge. It’s short-term support designed to make daily life easier — right when you need it.

• Children’s items for visiting grandkids (cribs, rollaway beds, etc.)
• Friendly volunteers to help you find what fits your needs

Find Your Ride isn’t a brochure — it’s a real help line that helps you explore options and find the right fit, whether you’re planning ahead or already need transportation support.

  Fact: It’s great for planning ahead — even if you’re just exploring options.
• Myth: “I need to figure rideshare apps out alone.”
  Fact: You can get step-by-step guidance and practical tips.
• Myth: “There’s only one option.”
  Fact: The helpline helps match your needs to available services and resources.

Prefer 1:1 help? The same helpline can guide you through options and planning.

AARP Tax-Aide offers free e-filing of Federal and AZ State taxes by highly trained volunteers. Appointments are necessary to take advantage of this phenomenal opportunity.

The appointment website goes live on January 15 at 12:00 noon. In recent years, all appointments have been reserved within just a few days — so don’t wait.

Looking for an affordable, welcoming place to gather? Sun City West Foundation offers flexible banquet and meeting rooms with tables, chairs, and basic A/V support.

• Clubs & meetings: a dependable space for regular gatherings

• Workshops & classes: educational programs, trainings, and speaker events

Every contribution helps keep services and support available for neighbors across Sun City West. Here are a few examples:

• $25 helps cover practical supplies that keep day-to-day programs running smoothly.
• $50 supports outreach and community resources that help neighbors find the right help faster.
• $100 helps strengthen readiness for equipment support, facility needs, and programs that bring people together.
