SCW Foundation Phasing Out Bus Service - Offering Better Options.
After almost a year of serious deliberation, the Sun City West Foundation Board of Directors has decided to end its bus service and transfer the program to Northwest Valley Connect and to Valley Metro Dial-A-Ride. Training Classes on Transportation Options Being Offered
Kathy Chandler, Executive Director of Northwest Valley Connect, will be conducting training classes about the various transportation options and how to access them. The remaining classes will be held on March 17 and 31 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM at the Sun City Foundation Grand Canyon Room. Free rides to and from the classes for Sun City West residents can be scheduled by calling 623-544-3020. You can also reserve a seat at the classes by calling the same number.

Bus service will end on March 31, 2017. By this time all existing clients will have received training and signed up with the two service providers.

Northwest Valley Connect coordinates information on a variety of existing travel options to provide residents with easy-to-use information that will assist them in planning their transportation needs. Valley Metro Dial-a-Ride
Valley Metro provides dial-a-ride services to Sun City West, Sun City, Surprise, Peoria and El Mirage for seniors aged 65 and over and specialized services to those meeting ADA disability requirements. Services are provided by passenger vehicles ("green cabs") or by specialized vehicles if the passenger is wheelchair-bound. The cost is $4 per one-way trip. Service hours are 7 am to 5 pm Monday-Friday. To use this service you must register with Valley Metro. Visit their website for more information.
